Each year, the admissions committee invites approximately 50 prospective students to interview for the 30 slots in the incoming CGP class. This experience, known as "Interview Weekend," will take place March 2016. Prospective students participate in two formal panel interviews with the admissions committee and spend time with current students touring the local museums and learning about opportunities available to students in Cooperstown.

In addition to giving the admissions committee the chance to evaluate applicants carefully, Interview Weekend offers prospective students the chance to discern if CGP is the right program for them. After a weekend of interacting with colleagues, getting to know the culture of CGP and learning about life in a small, upstate New York town, many applicants say the experience helped them understand whether they would fit in at CGP.

Applicants should be prepared for unpredictable and often snowy weather, should plan to wear business attire to the interviews – suits are appropriate – and should bring casual clothes for all other times. CGP students offer accomodations to applicants, provide all meals and will arrange transportation to and from the airport in Albany if necessary.
