Names

Aton: the universal and only god of the sun proclaimed by Akhenaton who considered himself at Aton's son and prophet.

Tel-el-Amarna- capital established by King Akhenaton and dedicated to Aton.

It is commonly believed that Egyptian art does not change. Defend and/ or refute this claim by a comparison of these two works.

The Amarna period is traditionally considered to be the only major break in the continuity of the long tradition of Egyptian art. Discuss this point of view in relationship to this comparison. Also define what is essentially Egyptian about the works of the Amarna period.
