Q: How old do I have to be to play in the game?
A: You must be 18 years of age or older to play in the game.
Q: Who can participate in the game?
A: Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in the game, as long as a waiver is signed prior to play.
Q: If I don’t want to play or aren’t of age, can I still watch the game?
A: Yes, anyone can watch the game, and admission is free!
Q: How much does it cost to play?
A: There is no admission fee, yet we do encourage donations and we will be having a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds going to the Alan B. Donovan scholarship fund.
Q: What should I wear to play?
A: Athletic attire and sneakers should be worn to participate in the game. Anyone without sneakers will not be allowed to play.
Volunteers Questions and Answers
Q: What will a volunteer be doing at the “World’s Largest Soccer Game?”
A: The volunteers at the “World’s Largest Soccer Game” will be broken up into four different teams.
1) Security
2) Parking and Pedestrian Directors
3) Sneaker Police
4) Food Service.
Q: What are Sneaker Police?
A: Sneaker Police will be at the exits and entrances of the turf field and will be checking participants and observers for proper footwear. Only Sneakers can be worn on the turf field.
Q: What will I have to do as Security?
A: Security will be making sure people aren’t getting out of hand and removing those who do. Security will be on the look out for people who decide to use alcohol or other controlled substances while at the event. They will also watch for those people that come to the event inebriated or under the influence of a controlled substance.
Q: What will I have to do as a Parking and Pedestrian Director?
A: Parking and Pedestrian Directors will be guiding the flow of traffic and making sure participants and viewers have a place to park their vehicles. They must also make sure that traffic is moving and to deter traffic jams. Additionally after participants and viewers have parked their vehicles they may need to be guided to the turf field. Pedestrian Directors will facilitate in finding participants and viewers up to the turf field and keep them from walking around campus. It is also important that Parking and Pedestrian Directors ensure the continual flow of traffic while maintaining the safety of pedestrians.
Q: What will I have to do if I volunteer for Food Service?
A: Those volunteering for Food Service will be providing refreshments to the participants of the World’s Largest Soccer Game. This will include handing out water and other sorts of refreshments.
Q: How long will I have to volunteer if I choose to do so?
A: The event itself will be about four hours and it would be greatly appreciated if you decide to help for all four hours. If you cannot, we will most likely be able to accommodate two hour shifts.
Q: If I volunteer will I be able to play in the “World’s Largest Soccer Game?”
A: Sorry those volunteering for the “World’s Largest Soccer Game” will not be able to participate in the event. Volunteers will be needed throughout the event especially security, sneaker police, and food service. Volunteering for the event will be just as much fun as playing it and volunteer will most likely have a better view than the spectators.
Q: Will I definitely get the volunteer job I said was my preference?
A: No. There is a set number we will need for each volunteer team and they will need to be filled accordingly. The earlier you register as a volunteer the more likely we will be able to accommodate to your preference. |
