Oneonta has seen a large amount of
industrial growth over the past 20 years. Once the area was discovered
by large industries and businesses, industrial growth developed
dramatically due to the ideal conditions of the area. Oneonta's
accessibility to interstate highways, natural resources, affordable land
and labor, and the above average work ethic of the community make
Oneonta very appealing to large industries.
One of Oneonta's main industrial
areas is the Pony Farm Industrial Park. The park is divided up into
between 2 and 30 acre parcels, and lies less than a mile from exit 13 of
interstate 88. Railroad access runs along the edge of the park as well.
The park is home to many growing businesses that are nationally and
internationally known.
Across the street and down the
River St. extension you will find more industrial development of
Oneonta. This area is home to a division of an internationally
known company that produces scientific laboratory products. The products
are used for the research of life sciences.
