SPAN 330 Non-Fictional Narratives

From the "Cronicas" of the Spanish conquerors in the 15th and 16th centuries to the "Nuevo Periodismo" of today, non-fictional narratives have played a principal role in the history of Spanish America and in the shaping and development of its culture and societies. This course will explore the varieties of non-fictional narratives developed in the region, their role in history, as well their literary value. Course will be conducted in Spanish and among other work, students will be required to write a 10-12pp research paper in Spanish. Offered irregularly. (LA)

Prerequisite: SPAN 208 "C+" or better.
