POLS 250 Southeast Asian Politics
Course explores the political development of the Southeast Asian region by focusing on several countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and the Philippines in a comparative manner. Special attention to the linkages between economic and political development in a nation-building context. Themes covered include decolonization, nationalism, democratization, ethnic conflict, human rights, and political culture. This course will be offered in alternate years. (LA, HO2)
