COMM 380 Environmental Rhetoric
Environmental rhetoric is an advanced seminar in rhetorical studies with an intensive focus on texts, issues, questions, and problems pertaining to the environment. Topics include, but are not limited to, American Indian discourse, environmental communication, preservation v. conservation, the sublime, green marketing, greenwashing, sustainability, climate change, communication, biodiversity, gaia, and environmental advocacy. The course involves reading diverse texts, writing a rhetorical criticism, several field trips, exams, and composing a communication plan for an organization. (LA)
