BIOL 111 Biological and Medical Terminology
This course will teach Biology Majors and those interested in the medical field both critical terminology and techniques for deciphering field-specific terminology. Over 400 prefixes, suffixes, and root words of Greek and Latin origin will be covered. By the end of the course, students should be better able to decipher the terminology they will encounter in biolgical texts and peer reviewed articles. Students will be assessed on their knowledge of the terms covered and ability to apply those terms to novel words. This course does not fulfill any requirements for the Biology major.
