Go STEM: Make It Work- 2019 Institute

Make it Work: Space Exploration
Be a part of the new space race and help humanity return to the moon, colonize Mars, explore the outer planets and even travel to another star system at the 2018 GoSTEM Summer Institute! Students will work in teams to complete a simulated remote mission to another planet, with challenges that may include constructing and operating drones, robot rovers, rockets, and scientific sensors. To explore the universe, students will delve into the cutting-edge science of the planets in our solar system as well as the exoplanets scientists have glimpsed around other stars. To reach these stars we will need knowledge and a lot of creativity! Make it Work: Space Exploration will use the A.J. Read Science Discovery Center as our home base. Students can take advantage of SUNY Oneonta’s resources such as the digital planetarium and the College Camp and Observatory, which has the largest telescope in New York State to see into the universe. Come join us and let’s explore!
