As the second year of SUNY Oneonta’s Strategic Plan 2010–15 draws to a close, I want to share with you a few of the stories that demonstrate our commitment to our mission, which presents the college’s most important values as six pillars:

This past year, our Budget Advisory Group and Strategic Planning Council continued to refine the mechanisms to allocate funding strategically and the metrics to gauge progress toward fulfillment of our mission.

At the same time, the aspirations identified in our strategic plan began to shape a broader range of activities on our campus. From the classroom to the community, we are engaging, day in and day out, in activities that demonstrate our core values. Often, these values overlap. For example, in spring 2012, global connectedness and experiential learning came together when 80 students collectively explored seven countries during faculty-led field courses abroad.

The vignettes featured in this booklet are just a few examples of how our strategic plan is driving development on our campus in new and exciting ways. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, and I look forward to sharing more stories with you as we continue our strong forward momentum.
