Re:                Initial Survey

As part of the College’s strategic planning process, President Kleniewski has created three task forces to consider input gathered from the campus community, prepare recommendations, and report to the Strategic Planning and Resource Council (SPARC). One such committee is the Organizational Structure Task Force (OSTF).

The charge of OSTF is to engage the campus community in a series of forums, conversations, focus groups, and surveys to identify if there are any alternative structures that could result in improved performance and enhanced services in the College’s operations.

The timetable for the OSTF is ambitious.

October

  • Conduct a campus-wide survey of all faculty and staff

  • Perform a literature review

  • Review organizational structures of other colleges

  • Schedule focus groups and meetings with campus groups

  • Post monthly update of progress on SPARC website and in the Bulletin

November

  • Conduct focus groups with faculty, secretaries, trades, student association, associate vice-presidents, directors, and other staff as needed

  • Disseminate progress and gather more data by attending meetings of Council of Chairs, Finance and Administration, Student Development, College Advancement, and Academic Affairs

  • Post monthly update of progress on SPARC website and in the Bulletin

December

  • Review data

  • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders

  • Post monthly update of progress on SPARC website and in the Bulletin

January

  • Write and submit report to SPARC

The OSTF will adhere to the following guidelines as it proceeds:

  • We will demonstrate objectivity regarding ideas that are new, innovative, and may impact our personal or departmental agendas and interests.

  • We will take advantage of this opportunity to honor the goal of enhancing the learning and living experiences of our students.

  • We will operate openly and with due transparency.

  • We will respect the importance of verified facts and information in the development of our recommendations.

This process is intended to be inclusive and we expect that all members of the campus community will have an opportunity to provide input. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the OSTF members with ideas, comments, questions, or concerns.
