Message from the Dean

Welcome to the website for the School of Education and Human Ecology at SUNY Oneonta! I encourage you to browse through the many informative links we have established, learning as you wish more about our diverse, high quality academic programs. Our faculty and students are involved in many exciting activities, and we are very proud of their engagements! Feel free to contact me if you have specific questions about how we work with students in the furtherance of their career goals, about student-faculty research, or about internship and other opportunities. More than anything else, I hope our virtual site will entice you to visit our beautiful College.

Candidates who are selected for study in one of our undergraduate or graduate programs are guided in active learning by disciplinary experts during their time here. The 50+ faculty in the School have created marvelous, engaging opportunities for the almost 2000 students we serve. Many of our programs have achieved national recognition. SUNY Oneonta’s Professional Education Unit is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Human Ecology programs in Nutrition and Dietetics are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). We are a selective College, admitting the very best students, and we are committed to helping all students succeed in their programs.

It is a great honor to serve as Interim Dean of SUNY Oneonta’s School of Education and Human Ecology. I am proud to work with these dedicated and highly accomplished faculty; I am prouder still of the magnificent students we see grow and mature while they are in Oneonta!

Once again, I invite you to browse this website and investigate the many choices for undergraduate and graduate study, the many options for exciting, hands-on learning and engagement. Our faculty and staff join me in inviting you to explore your future in the School of Education and Human Ecology at SUNY Oneonta.
