Reimbursement of travel expenses for candidates and certain other kinds of non-employee travel is allowable.
Candidates are eligible for reimbursement for transportation, meals, lodging, and other travel expenses at employee rates. The amount of reimbursement may be limited by the funding for the search in a given instance. Such individuals should complete a travel voucher and be sure to sign it. That voucher should be accompanied by a Purchase Requisition from the appropriate department. Be sure that the "negotiating unit" on the voucher clearly indicates "non-employee."
Candidates may be allowed reimbursement for taxes paid, if they are not otherwise employed by New York State.
