“Outdoor Adventure Clubis a way for me to escape the rigors of everyday college life. When I’m on a trip I take a break from tough professors, tedious homework assignments or pesky residents. It is one of the only times that I can really relax and enjoy my time away from campus. Outdoor Adventure Club trips to me are almost like a mini-vacation.

“I have always loved the outdoors and doing activities outside. The Outing Club’s extensive program has provided me with the opportunity to stay active in the outdoors through a variety of great weekly activities. Through the club I have met amazing friends, gone to incredible places, expanded my skills as a leader and enjoyed the unique experience that the Outdoor Adventure Club offers.”

“I’ll graduate from SUNY Oneonta with my degree in psychology only because you can’t major in being a hippie. The Outdoor Adventure Clubgives me an opportunity to be in the mountains that I love and a much needed relief from studying on the weekends.”

“I’ve always been an avid hiker and backpacker since I climbed my first mountain and spent my first cold night in the woods. When I began to look at colleges I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find a college that would allow me to continue enjoying my passion for the outdoors. I also worried that I wouldn’t meet anyone who shared these same passions as I had with my friends back home. After learning about the success of the Outdoor Adventure Club at SUNY Oneonta, and then actually becoming a member, all of these doubts were proven wrong. I am truly honored to be a part of it.”

“As an Education major the Outdoor Adventure Club is a great opportunity for me to enhance my leadership skills as a student guide. The Outdoor Adventure Clubalways has something going on (every weekend) and allows us to make it out into the great outdoors away from our computers for some real fun. Being involved in the Outdoor Adventure Club and the Outdoor Education minor is also very influential in my attempt to develop a philosophy of education – outdoor education. We can’t wait to see you out on a trip with us!”
