Status Updates for the SUNY Oneonta College Observatory Public Viewings

The weather in the Oneonta area changes rapidly, and we know that even if it is clear in the morning it might be cloudy by the evening, or vice versa. For this reason, we have created several ways for you to receive or view status updates indicating whether or not the evening's public observatory viewing will be held:

  1. Email: We have created a mailing list so people can receive updates about the status of upcoming public observing nights. To add your name to the list, simply send an email to listserv@listserv.oneonta.edu with the words "sub PUBLIC-OBSERV" in the main body of the email. You will then receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription.
  2. Facebook: Status updates are posted to the Facebook group page for our program. To see these updates, click 'Like' at www.facebook.com/SUNYOneontaAstronomy.
  3. Twitter: You can get the latest public observing night status via Twitter:

If you need any other information, please contact the campus astronomer, or Sheila Birkett (Sheila.Birkett -at- oneonta.edu).
