Dining

Who can my student discuss special dietary needs with?
Dr. Jennifer Bueche is the Sodexo dietician and any dietary concerns should be discussed with her. Dr. Bueche may be reached via email at BUECHEJL@oneonta.edu when classes are in session.

How does my student sign up for a dining plan?
All resident students are automatically enrolled in the Resident Dining Plan.

What if my student wants to change their dining plan?
Resident students are required to be on the Resident Dining Plan. Student living in Higgins Hall or students will special needs may contact the ID/Dining Card Office at (607) 436-3367 or stop by the office in the Hunt College Union.

Is a dining plan mandatory?
According to SUNY College at Oneonta residence life policy, dining plans are mandatory for all on-campus students.

Are dining plans refundable?
Dining plans, in accordance with NY State Sales Tax laws are non-refundable and Retail Dining Dollars are not refunded at the end of the year.

What is the difference between Retail Dining Dollars and Dragon Dollars?

  • How do I add money to my student's Retail Dining Dollars or Dragon Dollars?
    • Visit EZadd.oneonta.edu, and click on the "Parents may make deposits here" link.
    • Call the ID/Dining Office at (607) 436-3367
    • Stop by the ID/Dining Office in the Hunt College Union
    • Mail a check to:
      ID /Dining Card Office

    How can I see my student's balances?
    Your student may set up an online account at EZadd.oneonta.edu, they will need to share their user name and password with you in order for you to view their balances. OAS is not able to provide that information due to FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

    Can a student use financial aid to add money to a Dragon Dollars account?
    Yes, when you receive the college bill, there will be four choices of Dragon Dollar amounts you may choose. Any remaining financial aid after covering tuition, room, board and other fees will go towards the Dragon Dollars.

    Special Occasions

    How can I send my student a surprise to mark a special occasion?
    Sodexo, our campus dining provider, offers two options. You may order cupcakes or a cake through Surprise Someone or a variety of items through Gift University. OAS also offers Dragon Dollar gift cards in any denomination.

    Textbooks

    What are pre-packs? What are the benefits to a pre-pack?
    When your student has preordered their textbooks for the semester, we will package them into a box and have them ready for your student's arrival on campus.
    Pre-packs save time by by avoiding having to hunt for each individual needed textbooks. Also, there is no waiting in line.
    Pre-packs will also save you money as your student will be more likely to obtain used textbooks when pre-ordering. Used textbooks are less expensive.

    Can changes be made to a pre-pack order?
    In order to make changes to a pre-pack order, call Damascene Book Cellar at (607) 436-3329.
