Counseling Center

The Counseling Center welcomes appointments (call 436-3368) for individual or group meetings with students. All Counseling Center services are free and confidential.

Academics

SUNY Oneonta has asked faculty members who teach Matteson Hall residents to give them special consideration with regard to attendance, meeting assignment deadlines, and being prepared for class during this difficult time.

The college also will waive the late add fee through January 29 for Matteson Hall residents and allow them to withdraw through this date without receiving a “W” grade or being charged a withdrawal fee. Withdrawals do not require an instructor’s signature. All paperwork can be processed through the Registrar’s Office, 130 Netzer Administration Building.

Laundry Services

The college has directed Matteson Hall residents to First Choice Cleaners in Oneonta to launder clothing soiled by smoke. First Choice is experienced in this specialized type of cleaning. Our Residence Life Office in Wilsbach Hall is making laundry bags available for this.

First Choice will not charge students (on an item-by-item basis) if their cleaning efforts are unsuccessful. Students will need to pay upon pick-up for items that First Choice successfully cleans. Students will receive a receipt from First Choice that may be submitted with insurance claims.

We also are distributing laundry bags, cleaning solutions, and cleaning instructions to any students wishing to launder their clothes themselves.

Textbooks

The deadline for the return of textbooks at the Damascene Book Cellar in the Hunt Union has been extended to Tuesday, January 29 for Matteson Hall residents.

Mail

Mail addressed to Matteson Hall residents will be available upon request to them at the Shipping Room in the Hunt Union.

Donations

The SUNY College at Oneonta Foundation is accepting donations to benefit victims of yesterday's fire at Matteson Hall. Make a gift online. Gifts should be designated to the “Matteson Hall Fire Fund” in the box marked “other.” Checks may be made payable to the SUNY College at Oneonta Foundation and submitted to the Office of College Advancement, 308 Netzer Administration Building, SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, NY 13820.
