Mission and Goals

Mission Statement

The collections of P-12 educational materials in the Dewey Room support the mission of the Library, the College, and the Conceptual Framework of the Division of Education. The materials in these collections are used by faculty, students and community members to develop curricula and lesson plans and may also be used in actual instructional situations.

 

Goals of the Dewey Rooom

1. Provide, organize, and maintain a representative collection of materials for students preparing to teach in P-12 classrooms.
2. House the collections of materials whether print or multimedia along with the necessary equipment in one center.
3. Publicize the educational materials through such methods as the Library web site and the Information Guide series.
4. Provide insturction and support appropriate use of curriculum-related resources.
