Background: Guerdon Edgerton came to Delhi,  NY in 1809 at the age of 14 and amassed a considerable fortune during his lifetime with businesses including a hotel, several stagecoach lines, and a tavern. His real estate empire included property in New York, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He married Hannah Fisher and had 10 children: Henry, George, Charles, Apollos Cook, Mary, Emily, Julia, Harriet, Frances, and William.

Note: Very hard to read, as is the original.  The New York and Erie Railroad had a station at Hancock.
