In the Field

In January, a group of 19 geology students put their knowledge into practice during a 12-day trip to Mecca Hills Wilderness and Anza Borrego Desert State Park in Southern California.

Students choose SUNY Oneonta for lots of reasons. Our welcoming campus. The "just-right" size of our college community. The idyllic setting neighboring the City of Oneonta. But what sets us apart most is that we focus day in and day out on exceptional living and learning opportunities.

Our curriculum is flexible, diverse and challenging, with resources to match all kinds of interests. We offer 69 majors, and nearly 70 minors and five pre-professional programs – each designed to prepare students for successful careers or grad school. And we're committed outside the classroom to making sure that students have a wide range of options for socializing, entertainment and engagement.

As a college dedicated to teaching, learning and scholarship, we'll challenge, nurture and perhaps even inspire you. That's our promise. And along the way, we'll help create an Oneonta experience that's as unique as you are.
