ALS 577/EDUC 577 Issues in Diversity and Education
This course prepares teachers to be global citizens of the 21st century who are aware of diversity issues that touch the individual learner as well as educational institutions and use that understanding to improve learning. Issues to be discussed include ethnicity, race, language, religion, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, age, regional/geographic background, and exceptionalities (physical, mental, emotional).
Prerequisite: Degree graduate student status.
