ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Internationally acclaimed Chinese pianist Haiou Zhang will perform a concert at the SUNY College at Oneonta to celebrate Frederic Chopin’s 200th anniversary on Tuesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. in the Hamblin Theatre of the College’s Fine Arts Building. Admission to the performance is free, and members of the community are invited to attend.
Haiou Zhang, who is 26 years old, studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the University of Music and Drama in Hanover. In the 2009/2010 season, he is performing as a soloist with the Slovak State Symphony Orchestra on its extensive tour of Canada. He has also performed as soloist with the Ukraine National Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Polish Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra.
