ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The popular, locally produced radio program, the "Blue Light Central," has been added to the on-air schedule at SUNY Oneonta's public radio station, WUOW. It now can be heard at 104.7 FM each Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Gary Wickham, who oversees programming at WUOW, said host and Oneonta-area media professional Mark Drnek and his show both are great fits for the station.

"Mark has been putting together a quality program for years, and we're excited to be his new home," said Wickham. "Fans of the Blue Light who've been waiting for its return won't be disappointed, and I think the show will add more local flare to WUOW because of Mark's support of our community. It's a just great addition to our line up. "

Drnek is the founder of Sweet Home Productions, a multi-media company which is perhaps best known for its comprehensive website dedicated to all things Oneonta, For many years he has also hosted the "Blue Light Central," which focuses stylistically on blues and boogie, on local commercial radio.

"Fans will be glad to know that in our short hiaitus we’ve been busy. We’ve retrofitted our big blue train with all the modern conveniences. We’ve expanded the dance floor, upgraded the sound system, and added a few other surprises," he said. "The train rolls again."
