ONEONTA, N.Y. --
Terpsichorean,
the student dance company of the SUNY College at Oneonta, will present its
fall show, The 2008 Terpsie Awards, at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December
4, through Saturday, December 6, in the Goodrich Theater of the College's
Fine Arts Building. The fall show will also feature an additional matinee
performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.
Tickets for the performances will be on sale beginning Monday, December
1, at the Goodrich Theater Box Office, which is open on weekdays from noon
until 4 p.m. Tickets are $2 for SUNY Oneonta students or $5 for general
admission.
The show will include a dance entitled "Alice in Wonderland," which
features original choreography by Carleigh Bettiol. An Oneonta resident and
a graduate of Oneonta High School, she is now a senior Business Economics
major at SUNY Oneonta. Bettiol is also scheduled to appear next month in the
Orpheus Theater production of
Crazy for You. She will serve as student technical director for the
show.
Terpsichorean's purpose is to promote the interest of the fine art of
dance on the campus and in the community. The group's executive board
consists of President Elyse Smolin, Vice President Carleigh Bettiol,
Secretary Kristina Micalizzi, Treasurer Israel Manaloto, and Publicist Jess
Lebowitz.
