ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta will test its new
emergency-alert siren system on Wednesday, November 26, from noon to 1 p.m.
The new system is designed to alert the campus community in the event of an
emergency.
The test tone consists of a short six-second sounding of the siren. The
emergency alert consists of a sixty-second modulating up and down tone. The
all-clear is a steady tone for 30 seconds.
Following its initial test on November 26, the siren will be scheduled
for weekly tests at noon on Sundays.
