ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Science Saturdays, a series of hands-on hour-long
science workshops for children of ages 5-13, will continue on Saturday,
March 21, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the
Science Discovery Center
on the SUNY Oneonta campus. The upcoming workshop is entitled "Art and Light
in Physics." Admission to Science Saturdays is complimentary, and members of
the community are invited to participate.
Pre-registration for Science Saturdays is appreciated because a limited
number of spaces are available. Parents can pre-register their children on
the Science Discover Center web site at
www.oneonta.edu/academics/sdc.
Faculty and students from SUNY Oneonta will conduct the workshops and
assist the children. In addition, the Oneonta World of Learning (OWL) will
provide age-appropriate activities for younger children.
Each Science Saturday workshop will feature a different science
discipline. Upcoming workshops include "Lights, Colors, Explosions! The
Chemistry of Fireworks" on April 25 and "Oneonta World of Learning" on May
2.
