ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta will present a local
Relay For Life in support of the American Cancer Society beginning on
Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. and continuing to 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 15,
in the SUNY-Oneonta Alumni Field House. Members of the community are invited
to participate by signing up as an individual or putting together a team
with friends, family, or co-workers. Participants can register online at
http://events.cancer.org/RFLSunyOneontaNY, by phone at 1-800-ACS-2345,
or in person at the event. The registration fee is $20.
Relay For Life also plans to honor cancer survivors at the event during
the opening ceremony. Survivors who would like to attend should e-mail
hiliary.humble@cancer.org.
The College at Oneonta has set a goal of raising $40,000 through Relay
For Life for the fight against cancer. Participants have already contributed
over $30,000 to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and educate the
community about prevention and early detection.
