ONEONTA, N.Y. -- As the final installment of this semester's Red
Dragon Reading Series, juvenile novelist Lee Welles will present a reading
from her work at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, in the Craven Lounge of
the Morris Conference Center at SUNY Oneonta. The reading will be followed
by a reception and book signing. Admission to the event is complimentary,
and members of the community, including young readers, are invited to
attend.
Lee Welles is the author of the critically acclaimed Gaia Girls
series, a collection of juvenile novels that feature magical adventures and
foster in young readers a desire to be good stewards of our planet. The
first two novels in this series, Enter the Earth and Way of Water,
have won numerous awards, including the 2006 National Outdoor Book Award,
the 2007 iParenting Media Award, the 2007 Independent Publishing Award, and
the 2009 Mom's Choice Award.
