ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta Department of Physics and Astronomy will hold its first planetarium show of the fall semester at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in the college’s state-of-the-art digital planetarium.
The show, which is free and open to the public, will highlight the constellations, stars and planets visible in the night sky and take the audience on a virtual voyage through the solar system, galaxy and universe. It will conclude with a short movie on the planetarium’s Digistar projector system, which uses the same kind of high-tech equipment found in an IMAX theater.
The planetarium is located on the basement level of the Science I Building on West Dormitory Road on the college campus. Because seating in the planetarium is limited, registration for the show is required and tickets must be presented at the door.
