SUNY ONEONTA ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT APPOINTED TO NATIONAL BOARD
 

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Dr. Jeanne Miller, Associate Vice President for Student Life at the SUNY College at Oneonta, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. She will serve as the chair of the Public Policy Division for a two-year term.

With over 11,000 members at 1,400 campuses, and representing 29 countries, NASPA is the foremost professional association for student affairs administrators, faculty, and graduate and undergraduate students. For the past two years, Dr. Miller has served as one of seven members of the national public policy board and served as the public policy coordinator for the NASPA Region II advisory board. She has made regional and national presentations focusing on the current versions of the Higher Education Reauthorization Act and the relationship with the generational changes of parents of incoming students.

Dr. Miller joined SUNY Oneonta in 2000. She coordinates a range of programs and offices offering student activities, services, and opportunities for involvement, including the Office for Multicultural Student Affairs, Counseling Center, Health Center, Student Disability Services, Hunt College Union & Student Activities, Center for Multicultural Experiences, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, and Student Judicial Affairs.

A licensed psychologist, Dr. Miller worked at the University of Southern California, Whittier College, and the University of Northern Colorado before joining SUNY Oneonta. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at University of Houston, her master's degree in clinical psychology at Texas Tech University, and her doctorate in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego.
