SUNY-ONEONTA STUDENT-ATHLETES TO RAKE LEAVES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Student-athletes at the SUNY College at Oneonta in conjunction with the College's Center for Social Responsibility and Community will be volunteering to rake leaves for senior citizens living in the city of Oneonta on Sunday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Seniors residing in the city between East End Avenue and West End Avenue can call athletics secretary Kathy Lombardo at (607) 436-3582 or e-mail her at Lombarke@oneonta.edu to sign up to have their leaves raked.

Those signing up should indicate their name, phone number, address, lot size, and directions to the house, as well as an indication of whether they have rakes available for student-athletes to use. Participants should also provide five lawn and leaf bags. Raking is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and sign-ups will continue through Wednesday, October 31.

This volunteer event is sponsored by the SUNY-Oneonta student-athletes in conjunction with the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
