ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College of Oneonta will sponsor and
host a Halloween-themed Oneonta Kidney Walk as part of the National Kidney
Foundation’s Walk on Saturday, October 31. As a prelude to the event, the
College will present a kick-off for the Kidney Walk on Tuesday, September
15, at 7 p.m. in the Waterfront Cafe of the Hunt College Union. Admission to
the kick-off is complimentary, and members of the community are invited to
participate.
At the kick-off event on September 15, participants will hear from Jamie,
Dominick, and Cadence Love, an Oneonta family that has been struggling with
kidney disease. Dominick’s kidney donation saved Cadence’s life.
The Kidney Walk on October 31 is sponsored by the SUNY Oneonta
Center for Social
Responsibility and Community and the SUNY Oneonta chapter of the
Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. Held at the Alumni Field House, the walk will
include an indoor walk, activities, games, and Halloween contests.
Individuals and teams are now being recruited to participate.
