ONEONTA, N.Y. -- A group of
Education majors at the
SUNY College at Oneonta will sponsor a spaghetti dinner in support of the
Harvest of Hope Foundation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, at
American Legion Post 259 at 279 Chestnut Street in Oneonta. The cost is $6
for adults and $3 for children. Raffles of donated items will also be
offered. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Harvest of Hope Foundation
for migrant farmworkers.
The students in Education Block 27 are organizing the event as a
service-learning experience in the "Curriculum Instruction and Assessment"
course taught by Assistant Professor Madeline Berry of the SUNY Oneonta
Department of
Elementary Education and Reading.
The Harvest of Hope of Hope Foundation was established in 1997 in Oneonta
as a charitable non-profit organization to assist migrant farmworkers and
families across the country. To date, Harvest of Hope has distributed more
than $755,000 in emergency and educational aid. More information about the
