SUNY-ONEONTA STUDENTS' VIDEO DOCUMENTING LIFE OF STATE'S OLDEST TEACHER TO PREMIERE AT TEACHER CENTER MEETING

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Three sophomore Mass Communication majors at the SUNY College at Oneonta--Andrew Dapolite of Rye, Brian Ambrosio of Sayville, and Tim Rea of Levittown--have produced a video about Roxbury Central School teacher Dora Fowler, the state's oldest public school teacher and a 1940 graduate of the College. Entitled "A Life Worth Living," the video has been selected for presentation at the annual meeting of the Catskill Regional Teacher Center at the Foothills Performing Arts Center, where Mrs. Fowler will be honored on Tuesday, June 3.

The three students worked with Patrick Murphy of the SUNY-Oneonta Communication Arts Department to produce the video, which will premiere at the meeting. The collaborative film project pays tribute to Mrs. Fowler's unique teaching career, which has now spanned 58 years, and it explores the important influence that she has had on so many lives.

More information about the video is available from Patrick Murphy at (607) 436-3424.
