ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Todd Katzner, Director of Conservation and
Field Research at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, will offer a
presentation entitled "Migrating Eagles and Wind Farms" at noon on Friday,
September 18 in Room 121 of Science Building 1 at the SUNY College at
Oneonta. Admission to the event is complimentary, and members of the
community are invited to attend.
An expert on birds of prey, Dr. Katzner will discuss the possible
conservation implications of wind farms on the eastern Golden Eagle
population.
A faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences at the
University of Pittsburgh, Katzner holds a doctorate from Arizona State
University. His research focuses on interactions among animals, people, the
environment, and human social structures. While in Oneonta, he is also
scheduled to speak on the topic of Asian vultures at a meeting of the
Delaware Otsego Audubon Society.
