ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta Foundation was recently honored with a four-star "exceptional" rating by Charity Navigator, the leading independent charity evaluator in America, based on the College Foundation's commitment to sound fiscal management and its ability to deliver on its mission.
In a letter informing the College Foundation of the honor, Charity Navigator's President Ken Berger wrote, "We are proud to announce your organization has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. Approximately a quarter of the charities we evaluate have received our highest rating, indicating that State University College at Oneonta Foundation Corporation executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America."
In developing its ratings, Charity Navigator applies data-driven analysis to the charitable sector. The organization, which evaluates ten times more charities than any similar organization, has been recognized for its work by "Forbes," "Business Week," and "Kiplinger's." Charity Navigator's ratings are particularly relevant at a time in which more donors are seeking accountability from the organizations they support.
"Our donors recognize that charitable investments in the Foundation can provide life-altering opportunities for our students, our communities, and the future we share," said Paul J. Adamo, Executive Director of the Foundation and Vice President for College Advancement at SUNY Oneonta. "This award further illustrates the great care we take in work on behalf
of our College and our students," he added.
