ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Dr. David Brenner, community leader and retired
administrator of the SUNY College at Oneonta, will discuss a collection of
historical photos from the College’s archives dating from 1889 to the early
1950s on Tuesday, February 9, at 3 p.m. in the Morris Conference Center.
Admission to the event is complimentary, and members of the community are
invited to attend.
Dr. Brenner identified the photos and provided captions for them in his
2002 book, State University of New York College at Oneonta. The
photos are currently on display in the main corridor of the Morris
Conference Center.
In addition to serving as mayor of the City of Oneonta and chair of the
Otsego County Board of Representatives, David Brenner had a distinguished
career in teaching and administration at SUNY Oneonta. Before retiring in
1993 from his position as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr.
Brenner worked at the College for over 32 years, serving as Registrar,
Director of Records and Registration, Coordinator of Secondary School
Student Teaching, and Head of Social Studies Student Teacher Supervision.
Dr. Brenner holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from SUNY Oneonta and
a doctorate from SUNY Albany. He currently serves on the SUNY Oneonta
College Council.
