ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Lieutenant Jonathan Bartlett of the
University Police at the
SUNY College at Oneonta graduated from the 236th session of the FBI National
Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia, on March 20. Lt. Bartlett joined 254
other graduates representing law enforcement agencies from 48 states, 25
countries, four military organizations, and two federal civilian
organizations. FBI Director Robert Mueller was the keynote speaker at the
graduation ceremony.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy
Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative,
management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records
as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19
years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to
serve in executive level positions.
Lt. Bartlett began his career in law enforcement in 1982 with the Delhi
Village Police before transferring to the University Police in 1985. He has
served in the University Police Departments at SUNY Delhi, Albany, and
Oneonta. He was promoted to sergeant at SUNY Oneonta in 2007 and to
lieutenant this year. Lt. Bartlett is a certified Master Police Instructor,
Defensive Driving Instructor, and Director of the Otsego County Law
Enforcement Academy at SUNY Oneonta.
