ONEONTA, N.Y. -- "What Do You See," an exhibition of 24 photographs
by Japanese exchange student Momoko Ikeuchi, will be on display through
March 24 in the Project Space Gallery in the Fine Arts Building at the SUNY
College at Oneonta. Admission to the gallery is complimentary, and members
of the community are invited to attend.
Ikeuchi's color 8" x 12" photographs capture a slice of life that often
is overlooked. Her photographs are elegant simple compositions that draw
viewers in and help them to see the beauty in simple things.
Ikeuchi says of her work, "I like taking pictures of something which
people don't really pay attention to. I don't set up a model or an object to
take pictures. Instead, when I take pictures, I observe something which
catches my eye."
Under the direction of Tim Sheesley, the SUNY Oneonta art galleries are
open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. when the College is in
session. More information about the exhibition or the galleries is
available from Sheesley at (607) 436-2445 or on the web at
