ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta received an all-time
record of 12,595 admissions applications from potential freshmen for the
Fall 2009 semester. Last year, SUNY Oneonta received a total of 12,571
applications from potential freshmen for the Fall 2008 semester. The College
has a target of 1,050 new freshmen for the Fall 2009 semester.
According to
Karen
Brown, Director of
Admissions
at SUNY Oneonta, the College has received 1,109 deposits from incoming
freshmen. The academic quality of the incoming class is on track to be as
strong as last year.
The College has also received over 2,175 applications from transfer
students, more than it had last year at this time. SUNY Oneonta continues to
accept applications from potential transfer students but closed freshman
admissions on May 1.
SUNY Oneonta received a combined total of 14,806 admissions applications
from freshmen and transfer students last year. The College anticipates
surpassing that mark this year, thereby setting an all-time record in the
overall number of admissions applications.
