ONEONTA, N.Y. --An exhibition featuring work by 15 members of the SUNY Oneonta Art Department faculty will open Monday, Oct. 31, in the Martin–Mullen Art Gallery at the college’s Fine Arts Center.
A reception for the artists will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. The SUNY Oneonta Music Department’s Jazz Ensemble will provide music, and refreshments will be served. The reception is free and open to the public.
This quadrennial event features 60 works of art exploring a wide range of styles, media and content. Exhibitors include: Sven Anderson, Barbara Ardan, Nancy Callahan, Jian Cui, Michael Forster Rothbart, Roberta Goldman, Rhea Nowak, Chris Pettingill, Thomás Sakoulas, Nancy Samstein, Sean Scherer, Yolanda Sharpe, Katherine Spitzhoff, June Tyler and Janet Wentworth. The show includes drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, digital photographs, ceramics, felt sculpture, graphic design, collaged wood, etchings and sculptural book objects.
“Recent Work: Faculty Art Exhibition” runs from Oct. 31 to Dec. 16. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, when classes are in session.
