2007 December Candidate Recognition Ceremony

Sunday, December 2, 2007, at 11 a.m.

All candidates for December graduation will be honored at a recognition ceremony in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.

Ceremony

All candidates should assemble and be seated by 10:30 a.m. in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.
Faculty will assemble at 10:30 a.m. in the Dance Studio.
The stage party will assemble at 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room.

Participation

Candidates who wish to participate in the December ceremony must notify the Registrar's Office by completing and returning a participation card by November 2, 2007.  All students who have filed for a diploma application for December 2007 are invited to attend the Recognition Ceremony.  All December candidates will also receive an invitation to participate in the May 2008 College Commencement and Divisional Ceremonies.

Caps and Gowns

It is the responsibility of each student to arrange for purchase and delivery of caps and gowns. Proper academic regalia is required to participate in the ceremony.

Undergraduates (BA, BS)
Pre-sized costume packets cost $42.66 (includes tax). The packet includes cap, gown, tassel, and collar (for women). Regalia may be picked up at The Red Dragon Bookstore, Ground Level, Hunt Union, November 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Payment is due on receipt; no orders are necessary.

Mail Orders
Undergraduates not able to pick up regalia should contact The Red Dragon Bookstore in writing, listing hat size, height, weight, and gender, as soon as possible. Indicate name, address, and phone number. Include a check for $52.92 (includes tax and shipping) made payable to The Red Dragon Bookstore. All undergraduate mail orders will be shipped directly to your address by UPS.

Graduates (MS, MSED, MA, CAS)
Master's degree students must order before October 19, 2007. Send your name, address, and phone number, with your hat size, height, weight, gender, and type of graduate degree along with a check for $69.61 (includes tax and shipping) made payable to The Red Dragon Bookstore. All graduate mail orders will be shipped directly to your address by UPS.

Parking and Guests

Guests should be seated by 10:30 a.m. in the Dewar Arena.  Parking is located adjacent to the Alumni Field House.

Campus Lodging

A limited number of dorm-style guest rooms at moderate rates are available at the Morris Conference Center. Call (607) 436-2079 weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parking and Seating for Persons with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities requiring parking or seating are asked to notify the University Police Office at (607) 436-2491.  Deadline for notification is November 2, 2007.

Parking is available at various locations around campus, as illustrated on the campus map. It is suggested that guests arrive early.

The use of alcohol and smoking are prohibited at all activities and ceremonies.
