RED DRAGON ATHLETICS

NCAA Atlantic Region Championships @ Van Cortlandt Park – Saturday, November 10, 2007

The Red Dragons placed 14th out of 39 teams with 412 points to finish the highly successful 2007 season.  Alex Grout placed 26th overall and became the first man in school history to earn All-NCAA Atlantic Region honors.  The senior covered the 8,000 meter course in 25:29 and broke Ryan Wells’ school record of 25:48 set in 2005.  Junior Marty Nicholson ran a personal best time of 26:29 to place 70th.  Freshman Frank Pfaffenberger was right on his heels in 74th with a time of 26:31, beating Nicholson’s freshmen school record time for 8K by 4 seconds.  Sophomore Nick Pampena was next in for O-State, placing 103rd in another personal best time of 26:59.  Freshman Tim Greenberg rounded out the scoring in 140th place in a time of 27:55.  Freshman David Goodge placed 154th with a time of 28:13 and junior Josh Haverlock placed 163rd with a time of 28:25, good for two more personal bests.
