Thursday, September 6: read Gardner, 13th edition: pp.66-71 or 14th edition: pp. 68-73 in preparation for our discussion of Egyptian Architecture II , and read Gardner, 13th edition: pp. pp. 62-65; 71-77 or 14th edition: pp. 64-68;74-82 in preparation for our discussion of Egyptian Sculpture and Painting.
Thursday, September 13: First Quiz: covers Egyptian material, Slide Lists 2-5. The format will be ten multiple choice questions based on material discussed in class. Read Gardner, 13th edition: pp. 99-109 or 14th edition: pp. 105-115 in preparation for our discussion of Early Greek Art: from Geometric to Archaic.
Thursday, September 20: We will continue Early Greek Art: from Geometric to Archaic. Read Gardner, 13th edition pp.109-113; or 12th edition pp. 115-119;124-126 in preparation for our discussion of Early Greek Architecture.
Tuesday, September 25: Second Quiz: the quiz will focus on the architectural terms introduced in the list of terms at the end of the Slide List 7. The format of the quiz will be fill in the blanks. There will be a word bank.
Tuesday, October 2: Read Gardner, 13th edition pp. 118-126; 14th edition pp. 128-133 in preparation for our discussion of Early Classical Sculpture.
Thursday, October 4: we will examine probably the most famous symbol of Greek culture the temple dedicated to the goddess Athena in Athens, the Parthenon. Read Gardner, 13th edition, pp. 126-137; 12th edition, pp. 133-142. I would encourage you to also review the page dedicated to the Parthenon I have constructed for my ARTH 200 class.
Tuesday, October 16: First Exam: will cover material on Slide Lists 2-9. See the page entitled Exam Format for a list of the works covered on the exam.
Thursday, October 18: read Gardner, 13th ed. pp. 137-140, 14th ed. pp. 145-153 in preparation for our discussion of Late Classical Sculpture.
Tuesday, October 23: we will continue our discussion of Late Classical Sculpture. Read Gardner, 13th ed. pp. 140-154, 14th ed. pp. 153-162 in preparation for our discussion of Hellenistic Art.

Tuesday, Nov 6: Third Quiz: will cover material from Slide List 10-13. The quiz will be a multiple choice format with emphasis on the works that have been included in the Review Questions. Also pay attention to the architectural vocabulary included on the page entitled Arches and Vaults.
