Charles G. D. Roberts, House in the Water, Ward Lock & Co., 1908.

Letter dated July 10, 1908 from Ward Lock and Company discusses an arrangement with Charles G. D. Robert to publish six new books and Roberts suggests that PB should illustrate them “much in the same way that Livingston Bull has illustrated the American editions. The first volume we require illustrations for is “The House in the Water.’” Archives of American Art: http://www.aaa.si.edu/collections/container/viewer/General-Correspondence-178587 no. 33

For the American edition: C.G. D. Roberts, House in the Water, L. C. Page & Co.. Illustrated and Decorated by Charles Livingston Bull and Frank Vining Smith (no work of PB): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=coo1.ark:/13960/t9d516h5q;view=1up;seq=11
