THREE FINE DAYS IN THE NATION'S CAPITAL

Every year (for almost 25 years now), three students are selected to go to the National Student Symposium sponsored by the Center for the Study of the Presidency, in Washington, DC. The Dean of Science and Social Science, the Office of the Provost, the Student Association, and the Department of Political Science have made this tradition possible.

For many years, Professor Paul Scheele, (pictured on the right with students Vinnie Vernuccio, Alanna Gothard, and David Burke) accompanied the students to the symposium. In April of 2002, those students and the two faculty Pauls appreciated the memorial to FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt, shown in both photos.

Students typically apply for the symposium experience in February. Students from any major who have taken a minimum of three Political Science courses are eligible. Applications are available in the Department Office in 324 Netzer.
