GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION




The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) was organized in 1914 to promote and improve the effectiveness of education in geography. To meet this goal, the NCGE has established several committees and task forces. The Remote Sensing Task Force was organized to improve geographic education at all instructional levels through remote sensing. The Task Force is interested in promoting remote sensing as a means for students to gain a synoptic understanding of the Earth's landscape and to assist teachers in learning how to apply remote sensing materials and techniques in the classroom. The Task Force is involved in several projects, several of which are identified below. Also, listed below are the members of the Task Force who serve five year terms.
