CSCI 394 Game Development Project #4

For this assignment, you are to work in teams to implement the game designs chosen from the presentations for project 2.  First, you are to determine what the absolute bare minimum required to demonstrate the ideas and game play of your design are, and to implement that.  As soon as you get the design you are to implement, you should take the resource list and determine if it is complete, fleshing it out if it is not.  Then you should set up a schedule showing what needs to be done, and by when, if you are to have an alpha version of your game to present two weeks before the due date of the assignment.  You should also schedule what  needs to be done by when so that you have a final beta or a pre-release candidate done by the due date for this project.  You are to turn in your schedules to me as soon as you have them finished, but in any case not later than two weeks after the due date for the second project.

You should be working on this project beginning as soon as you are given your game to implement, and each person on your team should post a weekly update on Blackboard indicating what you have accomplished in the previous week towards getting the game done by the due date.  Your team should hold meetings as necessary, and juggle assignments as you find you underestimated or overestimated the workload for some particular piece of it.

As an additional incentive to finishing this project by the due date, in addition to the fact that if you don’t finish it on time it will have a big negative impact on your grade, if EVERYONE has their game finished by finals, we will use the final exam period to do game demonstrations instead of taking a comprehensive final.  However, this is ONLY if every team is finished by the due date, and then instead of a final, you will do presentations describing your games, things you learned from the project, and demoing your games by letting the class play them.
