ANSWERS

How do I register for on-campus housing?
Contact the Residential Community Life Office for information about applying for on-campus housing at (607) 436-3182.

Are there any non-smoking residence halls?
All residence halls are non-smoking.

Where do first-year students live?
Freshmen live in all buildings except for suite style buildings and Higgins Hall. The First Year Experience Program (FYE) is housed in Littell, Golding, and Wilber

Can I decorate the walls in my residence hall room?
Thumbtacks and adhesives that do not damage wall paint are acceptable to use when hanging items on the walls of the residence halls. It is encouraged that students do not use sticky tack as an adhesive or any devices that can put holes in the walls. Walls coverage is limited to 20 percent and ceiling decoration is not permitted.

What is the guest policy?
Students are permitted to have overnight guests with written permission of roommates and quadmates. Guests must be registered in the main office of the residence hall. See the Residence Hall License for more details.

How does the College manage over-occupancy?
In the Fall semester, the demand for housing by both new and continuing students make it necessary to assign some students to tripled rooms. Students are notified as spaces occur, and will receive a discount in their room rent while in the tripled room. Room assignments are based on the date of room deposit.

What size are the mattresses?
Most mattresses are regular length, however, we do have some extra-long ones in the mix.  Since most students like to bring "egg crate mattress covers" with them, we suggest extra-long sheets to cover the extra bulk of the egg crates, but regular size comforters and blankets.

How much space is under the bed?
All of our residence halls have modified loft beds (that have capacity to be raised and lowered) under which is approximately three (3) feet of space at its highest point.
