We have 15 residence halls, conveniently located to dining halls and academic buildings. Our residential life community is very active, with all kinds of ways to get involved—from joining hall government or working as a night host or resident advisor, to attending one of the many social and educational events offered throughout the year.
The price of living on campus will be fixed for each entering class. Under our new housing rate structure, students can choose from three living arrangements (subject to availability), with rates guaranteed for your remaining years at Oneonta as long as you remain in campus housing.
SUNY Oneonta requires freshmen to live on campus for four semesters, with a few exceptions. All freshmen live in one of our double-style First Year Experience residence halls, which feature special programming and support designed to ease the social and academic transition to college life.
Transfer students are not required to live on campus, but those who do must complete two semesters of on-campus living. Some transfers can choose a new Transfer Living Community that features mentoring and special programs.
When a crisis occurs
When frightening or upsetting events occur like the recent threats to campus, it can be very traumatic for a person. The campus community, and especially the Counseling Center, is here to support students who are struggling in reaction to events like these. We want to support the campus community in healing from these events and offer these tips for helping yourself and others.
